IU charging method

Charging curve and charging method The Battery Charger Pb SH-3.110 charges according to the IU charging method, i.e. the charging current decreases while the battery voltage remains constant.

Desulphation function: protection against harmful sulphate deposits

Both in charging mode and in float charging, short current pulses are applied to the battery to break down harmful sulphate deposits. This regenerates an already damaged battery and considerably increases its performance and service life. The efficiency of the pulse operation is higher the longer the charger remains connected to the battery. The desulphation function also benefits new batteries. Here, the SH-3.110 lead-acid charger prevents sulphate deposits from forming in advance. The full performance of the battery is maintained. After reaching the cut-off voltage (13.8 V), the device maintains the charge of the battery. This means that it can also remain connected permanently.

Float charging phase – ideal for longer periods of inactivity

Thanks to the float charging phase included in the multi-step charging process, the battery capacity is constantly monitored, optimally recharged if necessary and capacity losses due to self-discharge are compensated immediately. This fully automatic feature guarantees the instant operability of your vehicle at all times and ensures that your battery is fully efficient even after long periods of inactivity.

Safe operation – protection against short circuit, reverse polarity and overcharging

Defective, short-circuited and reverse-poled rechargeable batteries are automatically detected by the charger. In these cases, the charging process is not started. If the battery is connected with reversed polarity, the error indicator (LED) lights up.

Clear LED display
