This NMEA2 connection cable makes the BMV-7 monitor data available to NMEA2 networks. Battery information such as voltage, current and state of charge can also be displayed on generic displays from other manufacturers that are capable of receiving NMEA2 data.
Limitations:
• The cable cannot be used with other VE.Direct products such as solar chargers, inverters, and BMV-712 Smart or SmartShunt units.
• When used with the BMV-72, the AUX function in the BMV is limited: when measuring the starting battery voltage, the voltage value is transmitted to the NMEA2 network. However, when measuring temperature and/or medium voltage, the data is not transmitted to the NMEA2 network.
EXCEPTION: this interface cable is questionable. Use a GX device instead - it works better and offers more features. More detailed information can be found in this NMEA 2 chapter. Also, be sure to read the Marine MFD Assembly Guide.
