The BMS 12/2 is a battery management system for Victron lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) smart batteries. Specifically designed for 12V systems with a 12V alternator.
The BMS 12/2 monitors and protects each battery cell within the battery (or battery bank) individually, and disconnects the alternator, charging sources or DC loads in the event of low battery voltage, high battery voltage or overheating.
The purpose-designed alternator connection ensures current limitation and unidirectional operation from the alternator to the battery, meaning that any size alternator (and starter battery) can be safely connected to the Smart Lithium battery(ies).
The purpose-designed consumer connector disconnects consumers in the event of low battery voltage, high battery voltage or overheating.
The BMS unit is also equipped with a remote on/off connector, which allows the BMS (and the system) to be turned off via a remote switch.
