The Smart BMS CL 12/1 is a battery management system for Victron's lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) smart batteries. Specifically designed for 12V systems powered by a 12V alternator.
The BMS CL 12/1 monitors and protects each cell within the battery (or battery bank) individually, and disconnects the alternator, charging sources, and DC loads in the event of low battery voltage, high battery voltage, or overheating.
The dedicated alternator input provides current limiting and unidirectional current flow from the alternator to the battery, meaning that any size alternator (as well as starter battery) can be safely connected to the smart lithium battery(ies).
The BMS unit also features a remote on/off connector, meaning that the BMS (and the system) can be remotely can also be turned off via a switch, and the pre-alarm contact gives a warning signal before the BMS disconnects the batteries from the system.
