The Smart BMS CL 12/100 is a battery management system designed for Victron lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) smart batteries. It is specifically designed for 12 V systems operating with an AC generator.
The BMS CL 12/100 monitors and protects each cell within the battery (or battery group) individually, and disconnects the AC generator, charging sources, and DC loads in case of low battery voltage, high battery voltage, or overheating.
The dedicated input for the AC generator provides current limiting and a unidirectional current path from the AC generator to the battery, meaning any size AC generator (as well as a starter battery) can be safely connected to the smart lithium battery(ies).
The BMS unit also features a connector that allows for remote on/off switching, meaning the BMS (and the system) can be turned off via a remote switch, and the pre-alarm contact provides a warning signal even before the BMS disconnects the batteries from the system.
