The Smart BMS 12/200 is a comprehensive battery management system for Victron's lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) intelligent batteries. It is specifically designed for 12V systems, including those used in vehicles and boats with 12V AC generators.
In a robust and compact solution, it combines a current limiter, battery connector, and battery protector, allowing for the connection of any size 12V AC generator (and starter battery), loads, and chargers to Smart lithium batteries.
The Smart BMS 12/200 individually monitors and protects each battery cell within the battery (or battery group) and disconnects the AC generator, charging sources, or DC consumers in case of low battery cell voltage, high battery cell voltage, or overheating.
The AC generator connection designed for this purpose provides current limiting and unidirectional operation from the AC generator to the battery, meaning any size AC generator (and starter battery) can be safely connected to the Smart lithium battery (or battery group), and the starter battery is protected against excessive discharge.
The BMS is equipped with Bluetooth for monitoring and configuration, a remote on/off connector for disconnecting the BMS (and system) via remote control, and a pre-alarm contact for issuing a warning before the BMS disconnects the batteries from the system.
