The BatteryProtect battery protector disconnects non-essential consumers from the battery before the battery is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before there is not enough energy left for starting the engine.
The BatteryProtect providing battery protection is a unidirectional device. It only handles current in one direction – either current flowing towards the consumer or current coming from the charger, but not both at the same time. Furthermore, the current can only flow from the battery endpoint to the consumer endpoint. When used with a consumer, the battery connects to the battery endpoint, and when used with a charger, the charger connects to the battery endpoint.
