The BatteryProtect battery protector disconnects non-essential consumers from the battery before the battery is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before there is not enough energy left to start the engine.
The BatteryProtect battery protector is a unidirectional device. It only handles current in one direction - that is, the current going to the consumer or the current coming from the charger, but not both at the same time. Furthermore, the current can only flow from the battery terminal to the consumer terminal. When used with a consumer, the battery is connected to the battery terminal, and when used with a charger, the charger is connected to the battery terminal.
