The Extralink AI-9 is an innovative solution in the fiber optic splicer market. It provides ease of use while offering advanced positioning and welding technologies that will be appreciated by both novice users and experienced professionals. The device is designed for single-mode and multi-mode fibers. A characteristic feature of the AI series splicers is that configuration settings can be performed via a smartphone app.
Precise positioning, high efficiency
The AI-9 is capable of positioning the fiber core and aligning it with the sheath, ensuring optimal splice attenuation values. The placement of the fibers is done by a 6 high-end Siemens motor – an outstanding solution in this price category. The device is suitable for long-distance (up to 100 km) main lines, FTTH installations, short point-to-point connections, as well as the construction of fiber optic-based LAN or video surveillance networks. The 4-core processor provides fast response times: the machine is ready for work in 3 seconds, the welding time is only 6 seconds, and the heat shrink tubing takes 15 seconds.
The 5.1-inch, 800×480 px resolution display has adjustable brightness, making it visible in strong sunlight or darkness. The optical system provides 300x magnification and displays the fibers in two planes, improving the quality of welds and allowing for precise visual inspection. The built-in LED lighting enables work in complete darkness.
Universal fiber holders
The universal fiber holders provide convenient and fast working. They are compatible with fibers with diameters of 250–900 μm, tight or loose tubes, patch cords, and DROP cables. The splicer offers various welding programs, including an automatic mode that is excellent for most situations.
Robust design, complete kit
The robust metal splicer case has a bottom covered with protective rubber, while the splicing chamber and furnace cover are made of durable plastic. The practical carrying case features two-tier drawers that can hold all necessary tools, power supply, and accessories. The machine does not need to be removed from the case during work, as the box provides stable support. A detachable part can also be used as a small table or stool.
