Extralink OPIM-300W modified sine wave inverter
The Extralink OPIM-300W inverter is a device that converts the output voltage of a battery (direct current, DC) into 230 V alternating current (AC). The 230 V AC is the type of current provided by utilities for standard household appliances such as TVs, refrigerators, radios, lighting, or charging laptops/mobile phones, etc. Connecting a charged battery and then an inverter allows for powering household appliances in areas where there is no access to the electrical grid; for example, in a motorhome, caravan, boat, construction site, or other remote locations. Inverters are also ideal for off-grid systems and backup power supply systems in case of unexpected power outages.

This represents a modified AC3 output, a quasi-sine wave. This solution is cheaper than pure sine wave inverters; however, due to the current output characteristics, it is not recommended for use with induction motors, such as those used in central heating stoves.

Advantages of the modified inverter:
- Less complex design – fewer potential failure points
- lower price

The presented model can produce 300W continuous power and up to 600W peak power (the peak reserve capacity is useful when more power is needed to operate the device than for continuous operation).
Additionally, the inverter has a USB port for powering USB-compatible devices (e.g., laptops, tablets, etc.).
