The SmartShunt is a fully featured battery monitoring device – it just doesn't have its own display. The display is provided by your phone. The SmartShunt connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app on your phone (or tablet), allowing you to conveniently read all monitored parameters of the battery, such as state of charge, remaining operating time, historical data, and much more.
The SmartShunt can also be connected to a GX device for reading purposes. The connection to the SmartShunt is provided by a VE.Direct cable.
The SmartShunt serves as a replacement for the BMV battery monitoring device, especially in systems requiring battery monitoring where fewer wires and less associated clutter are advantageous.
The SmartShunt includes Bluetooth and a port providing VE.Direct service, as well as an additional connection suitable for monitoring a second battery, central potential monitoring, or use with a temperature sensor.
