A multipatchcord is a special type of optical cable. It is based on a multi-fiber optical cable. The cable often has a UV-resistant coating, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. There are as many connectors at both ends of the cable as there are fibers in the cable. The type and style of the connectors are selected based on the needs of the specific installation.
To facilitate the assembly of the multipatchcord - whether by drilling into the wall or using the patch panel inputs - two types of connections are possible: cascade or straight. In the cascade connection, each connector is made on a cable of different lengths.
The Multipatchcord simplifies and speeds up the connection of connection points. It is ideal for connecting patch panels located in two different cabinets, e.g., in adjacent rooms.
