Patch Panels

Patch Panels for Structured Networks

Patch panels are the foundation of an organized, transparent, and easily expandable network infrastructure. They allow for quick identification, reconfiguration, and maintenance of cables placed in server racks or on walls, whether for office, data center, or home systems.

Our selection includes 10" and 19" solutions, available in UTP and STP versions, with CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6a standards, as well as keystone modules, junction boxes, and wall-mounted sockets, enabling the complete copper-based structured cabling to be built from a single manufacturer's products.

  • Modular patch panels in 12 and 24 port configurations
  • CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6a keystone RJ45 connectors
  • Wall-mounted sockets with 1x and 2x RJ45 outputs
  • Wall junction boxes in UTP and STP versions, available in various colors
  • Thin, 0.5U high rack patch panels for space-saving cabinets

Professional Cable Management in Rack Cabinets and on Walls

The Extralink solutions in this category are specifically designed for structured copper networks, where reliability, clarity, and future expandability are crucial. The 12-port 10" panel is ideal for smaller SOHO systems or compact cabinets, while the 24-port UTP and STP models provide professional cable organization in office rack cabinets and server rooms.

The choice of appropriate shielding (UTP or STP) primarily depends on the level of electromagnetic interference and the environment. For higher-powered devices, industrial settings, or densely cabled racks, STP patch panels and junction boxes (such as CAT5e STP V2, CAT6 STP V2 models) can provide more stable, noise-free data transmission.

In terms of speed and future-proofing, this category is essential: CAT5e solutions are suitable for gigabit networks, while CAT6 products can support up to 10 Gbps, and even higher reserves can be used over shorter distances. For specialized needs, CAT6a STP keystone connectors are also available, specifically designed for high-bandwidth, interference-sensitive applications.

  • UTP vs. STP: in low interference environments, UTP (e.g., CAT6 UTP patch panels, keystones) is sufficient, while STP is recommended in high interference situations (CAT5e STP, CAT6 STP).
  • Port Count: 12-port panels are recommended for smaller networks, while 24-port configurations are suitable for medium and larger systems.
  • Physical Design: the 0.5U high panels offer a space-saving solution in crowded racks, while junction boxes and wall sockets are ideal for endpoint setups.
  • Modularity: in keystone-compatible panels, ports can be individually replaced and expanded, allowing for customization of the setup with separately purchased keystones.

Wall-mounted RJ45 sockets and junction boxes – such as the 1x or 2x RJ45 CAT5e UTP/STP solutions, as well as the black, white, and silver CAT5e/CAT6 boxes – provide an aesthetic endpoint setup in office spaces and home working environments. These can be combined with the ports of rack-mounted patch panels and switches, creating a clean, standardized, and easily documentable network structure.

When purchasing, it is advisable to consider the standard of the existing cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a), the size of the rack cabinet, the required port count, and how critical interference resistance is. A properly selected patch panel, keystone, and wall setup will result in a stable, scalable network with minimal maintenance requirements over the long term.
