Extralink's 1000 Mbps speed SFP RJ45 module is a high-performance and economical solution that complies with Gigabit Ethernet and 1000-BASE-T standards according to IEEE 802.3-2002 and IEEE 802.3ab specifications. The SFP RJ45 insert supports 1000 Mbps data transfer speed up to 100 meters over Category 5 Ethernet cable, as well as 1000 Mbps full duplex data connection with 5-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM). All four pairs of the cable are in use, with a symbolic speed of 250 Mbps per pair. The Extralink SFP RJ45 provides standard SFP MSA-compatible serial identification information, which can be accessed at address A0h via a two-wire CMOS EEPROM serial protocol. The physical IC is also accessible on the two-wire serial bus at address A0h. The SFP RJ45 module is compatible with most gigabit SFP ports found in networking devices. The device features a fully metal housing design, ensuring low EMI values.
