The multipatchcord is a special type of fiber optic patchcord. It is built based on a multi-fiber optical cable. Often, the cable has a UV-resistant coating, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors. There is a number of connectors at both ends of the cable corresponding to the number of fibers in the cable. The type and kind of connectors are selected based on the requirements of the specific installation.
To facilitate the assembly of the multipatchcord - whether by drilling into the wall or using the patch panel inputs - two types of connections are possible - cascading or straight. In the cascading connection, each connector is made on a cable of different lengths.
The Multipatchcord simplifies and speeds up the connection of connection points. It is ideal for connecting patch panels located in two different cabinets, e.g., in adjacent rooms.
