Patch panels are a fundamental element of structured cabling. They are installed in 19" racks. The screws used for assembly are the same as those for active devices. The purpose of the patch panel is to terminate the cables coming into the distribution cabinet.
The RJ45 Cat 6 UTP patch panel ports connect to active devices using patch cables of the appropriate category and design, adhering to the proper connection standards. A unique feature of this patch panel is its height in the rack - it is only 0.5U, meaning two such patch panels can be installed in one rack unit, providing 48 ports in 1U. The cable connection to the patch panel is made using a punch-down tool.
